On 5 September, Far Removed will be 1 year old (the paperback released early on 29/08, so it is already 1).
Future blog posts will return to other indie writing and art topics, but I wanted to take this moment to thank everyone who has been involved in spreading the word about this dark fantasy.
Some slides of highlights:
The Narratess book sales in April and August enabled Far Removed to reach many new readers, even getting into the top 50 in the Steampunk Sci-fi category last Saturday. Just this week, I reached my goal of 100 lifetime sales on the Zon. It has also sold in 9 different countries. Although, speaking as a South African, there could be other countries hidden within the numbers for the US. I buy my ebooks on the dot com site.
If I add audiobooks, ebooks and print copies from other retailers, the total is close on 200 sales. Many of them were not at full price, but they are out in the world!

I plan to spend my book’s birthday working rather than celebrating, but I will kick it off with an interview. Livia J. Elliot will be hosting me on her Books Undone podcast.
We both entered our novellas in the SFINCS (Speculative Fiction Indie Novella Championship) and will be discussing the Tidelings of Dras Sayve, which she kindly reviewed! Our chat will probably come out later in September or early October. You can also catch up with my live interview with authors, Mike Mollman and Rosaire Bushey. I spoke too quickly and probably overwhelmed people with my worldbuilding enthusiasm, but I had fun.
End Note
The department of basic education here requires publishers to submit new school books in October, so all writing and Ko-fi commissions have been stalled while I illustrate these. I am however working on covers and other commissions for some patient authors so I hope to share those in a couple of months. Wishing you a great September, dear reader.
